Conveyor alarms could be caused by multiple things. "Conveyor Out of Tolerance" is when the displayed speed does not match the setpoint. Resolving this alarm can be addressed by following step 1 below. "Conveyor Stall" is when there is a board jam or a failure in the drive system causing no actual speed displayed. To resolve this alarm, proceed to step 2.
Step 1. Conveyor Out of Tolerance
1a. Check to see if the motor is turning by removing the conveyor motor access cover located at the unload end of the machine.
1b. Visually inspect the drive motor clutch hub for rotation. If the clutch hub is rotating, the issue could be the clutch otherwise known as the OSD (Overload Safety Device) slipping.
1c. If the OSD is slipping, the hub will be turning but the conveyor sprocket will not be turning or turning slower. The conveyor turning slower than the setpoint will cause your conveyor speed out of tolerance alarm.
1d. If the OSD is slipping, follow the "Torque Setting" instructions in the attached EMI. If this does not correct the issue, you will need to replace the OSD using the attached EMI. Check your machine bill of materials to obtain the correct part number to order.
Step 2. Conveyor Stall
2a. If the conveyor is not turning, you could have a board jam or a mechanical jam of the conveyor belt.
2b. If the conveyor is turning and you still have a "Conveyor Stall" alarm, you could have a failure in your encoder circuit or conveyor motor speed control circuit.
