Points on measuring solderability with a wetting balance

The wetting balance is often used to check if a product is suitable for wave soldering.
It is therefore important to measure the component at that part of the lead that will be really part of the joint.
The measure temperature is often set at a lower value than the real process temperature in order to create an extra certainty that the product will be suitable for use. Also a non- or slightly activated flux is used for the test for the same purpose.
