FDC9100 and L-91 Operation Video
See links below for related tutorials
Below is a transcript of the video.
FDC9100 Control, and L-91 High Limit Operation.
We will start with the FDC9100 control.
The FDC9100 control, controls the temperature in the oven.
The FDC9100 control is very easy to operate.
The top, red display shows the oven temperature, and the bottom, green display shows the setpoint.
To change the setpoint, simply press the up or down arrow buttons.
The control will cycle the heater on and off to bring the oven temperature to match the setpoint.
The OP1 light on the control indicates when the control is telling the heater to be on or off.
When the OP1 light is on, the control is telling the heater to be on.
L-91 high limit.
The L-91 high limit, is a safety that protects the oven or process, if something goes wrong and the oven overheats. The L-91 high limit does not control the temperature in the oven.
When the P V light is on, the display is reading the Process Value, or oven temperature. This value should be within a few degrees of the top display on the FDC9100 control.
If the two displays do not closely match, there may be an error in the configurations, or one or both control and high limit may need to be calibrated.
See links in the beginning of this solution, for more information on configuring and calibrating these devices.
When the HSP1 light is on, the display is reading the high setpoint, or the temperature that the high limit will trip and turn off the heater.
Press the circular arrow or scroll button to toggle between P V and HSP1 values.
The Lock light indicates when the up and down arrow buttons are disabled.
Press and hold the reset button for 4 seconds to unlock the arrow buttons.
You need to unlock the arrow buttons before you can change the setpoint on the high limit.
To change the setpoint, first turn off the lock light by holding the reset button for 4 seconds.
Then press the circular arrow button so the HSP1 light is on.
Then press the up or down arrow button to change the setpoint.
Press the circular arrow button again to enter the change and display the P V oven temperature.
The high limit HSP1 setpoint needs to be at least 5 to 10 degrees higher than the control setpoint to prevent nuisance trips.
The OP1 light indicates when the high limit is tripped. The oven heaters will not operate when the OP1 light is on.
To reset the high limit after a trip, wait for the oven to cool down, then press the reset button.
The OP1 light will go off, and the heater will be enabled.
This completes the FDC91 hundred, and L-91 high limit operation tutorial.
